My dad was in the military for almost twenty years. He was born just before the end of World War II. He was around during Korea and Vietnam. He’s been on aircraft carriers and it was through sea duty in the mid-’70s that he met my mom.
My friend Matt graduated from the Naval Academy. His dad is a high-ranking officer, and I’ve always admired their strength of character.
My friend Karissa payed for medical school through serving in the Navy. I’m sure she can appreciate how complicated the military is.
Then there’s this friend and that friend, and this relative and that one.
Thank you.
I always have to go back to Patty Griffin. So, I have to thank her, too.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
I just wanted to thank you for this post along with all the many Patty Griffin posts you’ve put up. I am a relative newcomer to the power of her music and have in this past year literally found myself blown away by her. I’ve been humming “Kite Song” all day today because its just such a beautiful picture of the desire for peace. I can’t really put into words what her songs mean to me, but I will say that I think its very fitting that she has covered “Live Forever” because she is one of the greats that truly will live forever in the hearts of the people she’s touched. Anyway, just wanted to get that off my chest and say thanks again
So YOU’RE the one snooping around the Patty songs on my blog. 🙂
Obviously, I, too, adore Patty Griffin. I’ve been following her for about 10 years, and her songs are timeless and touching, and they speak to the human spirit.
Thank YOU for your comment, and keep enjoying Patty!
