World Pillow Fight Day

This happened in cities all over the world. Maybe you got to see yours.

Ours happened down at the intersection of Wall Street and Broad Street. It was quite fun, even though I didn’t come prepared with a pillow. Watching it was rather gratifying. I’ve seen similar videos on YouTube that are several minutes long, but I’m glad I only had 16 seconds of video left on my phone. It’s a nice little snapshot, you get the gist of what’s going on – I mean, come on, it’s a pillow fight; no explanation necessary – and as a bonus, in those 16 seconds, you get to see a couple of jumping, flying, airborne, pillows. Those are my favorite.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

  1. At least New Yorkers have a sense of humor about such things.

In the Murder Capital of America, the police take things far more seriously:

Police in Detroit have ruffled some feathers after they cracked down on an organized pillow fight at a downtown park.

The Detroit News reports that police at Campus Martius Park prevented the feathery fight Saturday by disarming pillow-toting participants. The bout was part of a worldwide event organized on social networking Web sites.

Michael Davis of Hamtramck says police confiscated the 32-year-old man’s pillows but returned their cases. He says he was told that he needed a permit.

Scott Harris of Ferndale told the News that it’s “not illegal to own a pillow.”

Detroit police spokesman James Tate says cleanup was the issue.

Just wait until the riot tomorrow night after the Michigan State final. Torched cars are hard to clean up, too O_o

A little discussion.
